"This was our second time at Dumpling Alley, and we had a pretty good experience overall. The food was nice and freshly made. The Dan Dan noodles were tasty on their own without needing extra chilli oil. We also ordered the Black Truffle Xiao Long Bao, Crispy Chicken with Salted Egg Glaze, and Stir-Fried Snow Pea Sprouts with Mushroom, and everything came out well and was enjoyable. Service was fine — staff were polite, food came out at a reasonable pace, and our requests were handled without any issues. Pricing felt fair for the portion sizes and quality."

"After trying dumpling spots across various Melbourne neighbourhoods, I’m updating my review — and this place definitely stands out. It’s now one of my top choices for dumplings! They make everything fresh, and you can really taste the difference. The dumplings are full of flavour, made with quality ingredients, and always satisfying. The menu also offers plenty of other delicious options, all prepared with great care and attention to detail. It’s usually busy, which says a lot — but the service is quick, and finding a table hasn’t been a problem. The prices are fair, and the food delivers a perfect balance of quality and flavour. Customer service is consistently excellent too, which makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommended if you’re after top-notch dumplings and great value in Melbourne!"

"It was a quick and a good experience.. right in front of coles in the Doncaster Westfield mall.. shop till you drop .. fuel up yourself here and shop again .. The service was super quick, servers were well trained. Chicken kung Pao was delicious.. just the right flavours and loaded with peanuts along with steamed rice on the side. Dim sums were also good. Vegetarian for sure could have been better. It was very bland., actually no flavour or taste at all.. would be good to see more variations in the menu for vegetarians as well next time or whenever they update the menu. Would love to visit again for the delicious meal."

"Great restaurant for authentic Shanghainese food. Recommended to go early before lunch as it's usually packed. The Shanghainese style fried noodle tasted better eaten with the chilli oil although it was a bit salty. The steamed black truffle xiou long bao and pan fried pork buns are a must try .... Yummm. Love the crispy pan fried bean pancakes as well. The Beijing shredded pork in black bean sauce was a bit salty but eaten with the steamed bun and side salad balanced the taste perfectly. Service was good and our orders came quite fast ... in about 10 - 15 minutes. We enjoyed our lunch. It was a great gastronomy experienced."

"Wait around 10-15 mins at 1pm on sat, not bad. The tan tan noodles are quite spicy even though we asked for less spicy. It tastes good however our son cannot enjoy it though, hopefully they can offer non spicy option later. The pan fried buns are crispy as always. The fried rice is a bit oily but it is damn good, dry rice and all things add up give a nice favour combination and texture. Hope they can give us a little small plate for vinegar otherwise it just adds vinegar to all dishes... Overall it is nice. They give us kids cutlery without asking"

"Busy restaurant, have to line up for getting the seats. The food tastes good, typical style of East of China. Only 10 mins, we'd got what we ordered for 5 people. I don't know it means good or bad, depends on your own cognition, and your demands."

"Had an amazing experience at Dumpling Alley! The dumplings were absolutely delicious — super fresh and packed with authentic flavour. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into each one. The only minor downside is that the seating area is a bit tightly packed, but it’s definitely worth it for the food."
